The year is 1974, and the wizarding world is at odds with a newcomer who plans to overthrow the Ministry of Magic - the ever allusive Lord Voldemort. The man is wrangling up followers left, right, and centre, drawing them in with promises of splendor and glory when he finally overthrows the Ministry. Disappearances keep happening, and the Ministry tries desperately to keep peace and balance in order. It is difficult, but somehow they have kept their head above the water.
At Hogwarts, things are as they have always been. Students struggle to get through their lessons, teachers pile on the homework, and the Headmaster works at great lengths to keep all those who ought not to be meddling in line. Whispers reach the students' ears of the Dark Lord's feud with the Ministry, and many find themselves choosing sides without much of a thought. They follow what their parents tell them to do, for the most part. However, there are small groups here and there that have a strong political standpoint on how the world should be run, and none of them are afraid to let their opinions known.
Blood purity is a hot topic among the Slytherin students, who seem to carry their biased opinions with them wherever they may go. The rest of Hogwarts seems to be at a relative peace, which is a far cry from the rest of the magical world.
Meanwhile, in the farthest corners of northern Scotland, the vampire race has taken a slight interest in the affairs of the wizards. Although the elders wish for none of their people to become involved, a fool-hardy general by the name of Damien O'Gatsby has decided to lead his people down to join with the Dark Lord Voldemort. He is regarded as a disgrace by the Council of Elders, and many of his kind find it ridiculous that he would meddle in the affairs of mortals. Despite that, he still believes he can have a little fun by aiding Voldemort in domination. Currently, he does not fully know whether or not the wizard will accept his proposal to help.
The Ministry does not remain completely alone. Albus Dumbledore slowly builds up a small group of wizards known as the Order of the Phoenix. They are new, fresh, and ready to combat the dark Voldemort and his evil band of followers. Also, the Council of the Elders from the vampire race do not see eye to eye with Voldemort, and while they will not openly admit to siding with either Albus or the Ministry, they are willing to lend some support when needed.
The werewolf race has also heard the cries of the wizards. They, like their archenemies the vampires, also wish to join ranks with Voldemort and help him on his mission to overthrow the Ministry. With a rather dangerous leader of their own, Alexander Kingston, they too march to the Dark Lord with an offering. Will they be able to get along with the vampires? Will Voldemort even accept any of their help? How will the Ministry react to the surge in enemies?
We'll see, won't we?
Many canons up for grabs, from Bellatrix Black to Voldemort, to Minerva McGonagall and James Potter.
